What makes Git hosting AI-first?
A coding agent needs more than a remote repository URL. It needs a reliable starting point, an identity, a bounded set of permissions, a task to perform and a way to report what changed.
BranchSlate keeps those controls next to the repository. Project objectives, architecture, conventions, protected areas, required tests and active work persist between AI sessions, so a new session can continue the project instead of rediscovering it from scratch.
Human supervision without terminal handoffs
BranchSlate is designed around a human supervising work while coding agents perform it. Agents can read project context, claim tasks, propose file changes and queue verification through the same versioned services used by the web product.
Approval can be manual or automatic after required checks pass. Every accepted change remains a normal Git commit, and restoration creates a new commit instead of erasing history.
Bring your model, repositories and runners
BranchSlate does not require a specific AI model. Hosted repositories are native Git, existing repositories can be connected for approved snapshot workflows, and projects can use managed verification or an authenticated customer runner when a different environment is required.
Source code and history stay portable through Git. Project metadata, context, tasks, agents without credentials, change records, run records and audit history can be exported as versioned JSON.
Build with the AI you already use.
Start with a private Git repository, connect your coding agent and keep the project context, tasks, verification and review history together.
Private Git repositories · scoped agent access · configurable approval · reversible history.
